ASCE Logo Contest

ASCE South Jersey Branch is holding a competition for the best new ASCE South Jersey Branch logo. The contest is open to all members (co-workers, family and friends) and local engineering students. The grand prize will be a $100 visa gift card. Logos will be judged on originality, creativity, aesthetics, identification with the Civil Engineering profession and how well they capture the essence of South Jersey by utilizing various South Jersey themes. Students are encouraged to participate. The submission deadline is November 8, 2007, and the winner will be chosen by December 5, 2007, by the Board.

RULES:

The logo rules stated herein can be changed or altered by the ASCE South Jersey Branch Board at any time and without notice.

The contest is open to all South Jersey ASCE members (co-workers, family and friends) as well as students from local universities (who are well acquainted with engineering in the South Jersey) as designated by the ASCE South Jersey Branch Board. The logo must spell out ASCE and can have any colors that the contestant deems appropriate. A logo that references the ASCE South Jersey Branch is preferable although not required and creative use of engineering related images that clearly connect to and are readily identified with the South Jersey community are also preferred, but not required. The submitted logo shall not have any references to companies, agencies or associations other than the ASCE South Jersey Branch. Logos will be judged by the voting board of the ASCE South Jersey Branch based on the following categories:

-    Originality (10%)

-    Creativity (10%)

-    Identification with Civil Engineering as a profession (10%)

-    Aesthetics (30%)

-    Identification with the South Jersey area (40%)

Note: Scores will only be used internally for the Board's decision and will not be made public or shared with any contestants.

All submission shall be in the form of an electronic submission to the contest administrator via email at JGreenberg@nalco.com of a standard .JPG or .GIF file sized at 1"X2". All submissions shall be emailed by November 8, 2007. Any submissions received after the deadline will be deemed null and void. The submitted logo will be the sole property of the ASCE South Jersey Branch. The ASCE South Jersey Branch reserves the right at its sole discretion to change or modify the logo in anyway deemed appropriate by the ASCE South Jersey Branch Board. Any submission violating the above rules or deemed inappropriate by the ASCE South Jersey Branch Board will be immediately dismissed without notification to the contestant. The winning logo will be chosen by the Board no later than December 5, 2007; the winner will be notified via email.
